Environmental Software (based in Canada), is proud to offer hands-on computer
course featuring air pollution modeling of industrial sources using the US EPA's
AERMOD and CALPUFF.
This represents a unique opportunity for industry, consultants and regulatory authorities to receive world class training in these mathematical models. Lakes Environmental has been awarded a number of USEPA contracts for the conduct of air pollution modeling training and has conducted over 96 modeling courses during the past 3 years. Numbers will be limited so you are encouraged to register early.

Course Description
AERMOD is a steady-state plume model that
incorporates air dispersion based on planetary boundary layer turbulence
structure. This model will provide more realistic and accurate results than the
US EPA ISCST3.
CALPUFF is a non-steady-state puff dispersion model that simulates the effects of time-varying and space-varying meteorological conditions on pollution transport, transformation, and removal. CALPUFF is recommended over Gaussian plume models for long-range transport, coastal areas, and for complex terrain.
Instructor
Dr . Jesse L . The, Ph. D., P. Eng., is the
President of Lakes Environmental Software. Dr. The has over 20 years experience
in thermal fluid flow and environmental simulations. He is the main author of
AERMOD View, CALPUFF View, IRAP-h View, and Emissions View, among others. He
consults for regulatory agencies in Canada, the USA, and abroad on topics
related to complex air modeling projects. He is a professor at the University of
Waterloo, and has authored commercial software and co-authored technical
environmental books. Dr. Jesse The is a great public speaker, who has received
outstanding reviews from those attending his courses.
